Fishing

We can’t say it enough: the fishing here simply must be experienced to be believed. The Turtle Flambeau Flowage is one of the most sought-after fishing destinations in Wisconsin (and that’s saying a lot)! With over 200 miles of shoreline (almost all of it undeveloped), dozens of islands and countless underwater habitats, there is no shortage of exceptional fishing all year round. We have musky, walleye, lake sturgeon, small and largemouth bass, northern pike, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, rock bass and yellow perch. Check out our gallery to see some of the keepers our guests have pulled from these waters!

Plus, there are nearly as many ways to enjoy the fishing here as there are types of fish to catch. You can fish from shore, bring your own boat, rent a canoe or kayak or, if you’re really looking to hook the big one, hire one of the areas expert guides for an experience you won’t soon forget. The really adventurous could even extend the fishing trip by docking and camping on one of the dozens of islands in the flowage.

At the end of your day, you can clean your catches in our on-site fish cleaning house, with running water and two countertops for multi-person cleaning. Not to mention the magic bucket, which mysteriously makes your fish guts disappear!

Ice Fishing

Just because the water turns to ice doesn’t mean the fish stop biting! The shallow waters of the flowage freeze early and freeze thick, letting you explore our equally legendary ice fishing by car, truck, snowmobile or ATV/UTV. Stop by the office to rent your gear and talk to Bob, Cathy or Brian for the inside scoop on the best places to auger your holes and set up camp.
