Lake View

History

Following successful “big city” careers at IBM, Bob and Cathy Weinkauf decided they wanted a change of pace. They purchased the resort in 1982 and pursued their dream of creating a welcoming, family-friendly resort that showcases the exquisite beauty and abundant recreational activities of the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. They tore down and rebuilt each luxury cabin by hand, paying attention to the details that can make an ordinary cabin truly outstanding.

Attuned to the difference that good hosts can make, Bob and Cathy are on site daily, ensuring their guests never run out of firewood, pointing out the best fishing spots, exchanging linens and making sure every guest enjoys their stay.

Today, the dream continues as the couple operates the lodge with their son, Brian. Together, the father and son team recently rebuilt the new Sunken Horse Saloon, a welcoming gathering place for guests and locals alike.

Featuring spacious, open-concept living, kitchen and dining areas, each cottage surrounds you with the comfort of natural pine paneling, the warmth of a natural wood fire and cool air-conditioning for those occasional hot summer days.
